World Athletics Championships 2023 India Results

India totally rocked the 19th World Athletics Championships in Hungary from August 19 to 27, 2023! Our squad of 28 athletes was the biggest ever.

Neeraj Chopra crushed it with a gold in men’s javelin throw, throwing 88.17m – a new national record! He’s the first Indian to score gold in the World Athletics Championships, how awesome is that?

And that’s not all! Our team had some epic moments too. Jyothi Yarraji rocked the women’s 100m hurdles and was just 0.02 seconds away from bronze. Avinash Sable nailed fifth place in the men’s 3000m steeplechase, while Priyanka Goswami and others made us proud too.

In the end, we clinched 18th place in the medal tally, with one gold. That’s our best since 2003 – talk about progress, right?
