The educational qualification required for the Navik (GD) post is 10th pass with at least 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in each of Mathematics and Science. The educational qualification required for the Navik (DB) post is 10th pass with at least 50% marks in aggregate.
The age limit for the Navik (GD) post is 18 to 22 years as of January 1, 2024. The age limit for the Navik (DB) post is 18 to 25 years as of January 1, 2024.
The selection process for the Navik (GD) and Navik (DB) posts will consist of a written exam, physical fitness test, and medical examination.

The written exam will be a computer-based test (CBT) and will consist of questions on general knowledge, aptitude, and English. The physical fitness test will consist of a 1.6 km run, 800 meter swim, and pull-ups. The medical examination will be conducted to check the candidate’s fitness for the job.
The candidates who are selected will be appointed as Naviks in the Indian Coast Guard. They will be trained at the ICG training institutes and will be posted in various coastal areas of India.
The salary for a Navik in the Indian Coast Guard is around Rs. 21,000 per month. The salary will increase with the rank and length of service.
