The APPSC Group 2 Prelims Exam is scheduled for 25 February 2024. All those candidates who qualify for the preliminary examination will be eligible to appear for the main exam. 

Selection Process, Paper Pattern

The APPSC Group 2 Recruitment 2024 selection process involves multiple stages to assess the candidates’ suitability for various executive and non-executive positions in Andhra Pradesh state government departments.

Preliminary Exam

The preliminary exam serves as a screening test to shortlist candidates for the main exam. It is an objective type exam that evaluates candidates’ knowledge in general studies and mental ability.

Mains Exam

  • Papers: 2 Papers, each carrying 150 marks
  • Sections: Paper 1 covers the Social History of Andhra Pradesh and the Indian Constitution, while Paper 2 deals with Indian and AP Economy and Science & Technology.
  • Number of Questions: 300 (150 in each paper)
  • Negative Marking: One-third of marks are deducted for every wrong answer
  • Duration: Each paper is for 150 minutes

Computer Proficiency Test

Candidates who qualify in the mains exam must appear for the Computer Proficiency Test. This practical test assesses candidates’ skills in using computers and associated software, crucial for modern administrative functions.

  • Type: Practical Exam
  • Parts: 2 Parts focusing on different areas of computer skills
  • Marks: 100
  • Duration: 60 minutes
  • Minimum Qualifying Marks: It is important to note that the minimum qualifying marks for SC/ST/PH is 30, for BC is 35, and for Other Categories is 40.
