Preliminary Exam

Mains Exam
This is the second and most important stage of the selection process. The main exam comprises objective-type questions, and the performance in this stage is considered for the final merit list. The exam tests candidates’ knowledge in various subjects relevant to the state and national level.

- Papers: 2 Papers, each carrying 150 marks
- Sections: Paper 1 covers the Social History of Andhra Pradesh and the Indian Constitution, while Paper 2 deals with Indian and AP Economy and Science & Technology.
- Number of Questions: 300 (150 in each paper)
- Negative Marking: One-third of marks are deducted for every wrong answer
- Duration: Each paper is for 150 minutes
Computer Proficiency Test
Candidates who qualify in the mains exam must appear for the Computer Proficiency Test. This practical test assesses candidates’ skills in using computers and associated software, crucial for modern administrative functions.

- Parts: 2 Parts focusing on different areas of computer skills
- Marks: 100
- Duration: 60 minutes
- Minimum Qualifying Marks: It is important to note that the minimum qualifying marks for SC/ST/PH is 30, for BC is 35, and for Other Categories is 40.
