Eligibility Criteria

Educational qualifications

Before applying, each applicant must meet the minimum educational requirements to pass the civil service exam.
The minimum educational requirement for jobs with sequence numbers 1 to 7 as well as 10, 11 and 12 is a Bachelor’s degree in any subject from an accredited institution established under Indian law.
An institution based in India must provide a master’s degree to be considered for the positions of Deputy Education Officer, Staff Officer and Legal Officer.
Probation Officer positions require a graduate degree in Sociology, Applied Sociology or Social Work from any statutory Indian university.

Age limit

Check upper age limit below. The minimum age requirement for certain UKPSC Group A and Group B roles is 21 years from 1 July 2024 and must not be born after 1 July 2003.
Minimum age: 21 years
Maximum age: 42 years.

Nationality

Apart from being a citizen of India, applicants who want to compete in the civil services test must fulfill the other nationality criteria mentioned below.

Indian National
Before January 1, 1962, Tibetan refugees landed in India for permanent settlement.
Indian immigrants who left Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka or any East African country such as Kenya, Uganda or the United Republic of Tanzania.

Selection Process

Candidates who wish to be considered for appointment to the various posts in Group A and Group B must first pass an initial test. Those who pass the main exam will be interviewed afterwards. After successful completion of all three stages, applicants must appear for the document verification step.
